Physician faxed ordered for tramadel to pharmacy...I am allergic to tramadel and this is noted all medical and pharmacy records..CVS dispensed this medication to me despite the warning in their system..When questioned they admitted that it was in their record but somehow overlooked it..Blamed it on their software provider..The following day I went back to CVS to get correct medication..Pharmacy Tech Twanda requested that I pay for prescription..I asked her why I was being asked to pay for their mistake and she rudely stated "I know nothing about it" slammed the drive thru window in my face, then opened it up demanding payment..A simple sorry from CVS just doesn't cut it..My life was endangered,my time and gas to return to the pharmacy was not compensated and I should never have had to pay for the second medication..This store needs some management that oversees and knows what is going on in the pharmacy department..I am transferring my prescriptions to another drug store for sure...

Monetary Loss: $1000.

You self entitled ***. You're probably one of those *** who demand a free appetizer when a wrong entree is served. Fixing the problem isn't enough for you, is it?

So your yelling at US for filling something that your DR prescribed? Why not call ur doctor and yell at him for prescribing it?

Your as dumb as a doornail....i mean seriously....DONT YOU IDIOTS LOOK AT THE MEDICATION BEFORE YOU BUY IT?

DONT BLAME US FOR YOUR STUPIDITY. YOUR THE BIGGEST BUNCH OF *** IF YOUR *** ENOUGH TO NOT ASK YOUR DR WHAT HE IS PRESCRIBING, AND *** ENOUGH TO NOT LOOK AT THE MEDICATION BEFORE YOU LEAVE, THEN YOU DESERVE EVERYTHING U GET AS A RESULT.

You are a ***! Your a paid "pharmacy tech" it's your job to make sure the meds you dispense is safe for the patient.

It's as simple as looking at you computer screen and reading. The Dr made a mistake, the customer made a mistake and you made a mistake.

But i totally understand why you blame the Dr and the customer and take no blame at all. BECAUSE U A ***!

95% of the time people say they are allergic to something because it gave them diarrhea not because their throat closed up. So it is possible they figured seeing as the dr.

wrote it for you that was the case. They should have confirmed with you that was the situation. Why do you think CVS should eat the cost of the tramadol and not your dr? I'm not saying either one of them should eat the cost.

I think if I took a medication that does the same thing as a medication i'm allergic to I, ME, Myself would be careful and make sure that's not what is was before I purchased it. If you didn't know what the dr. called in why didn't you just ask when you went to pick it up.

Or are you allergic to tramadol (for pain) because you know that's what a dr. will write for pain first and you don't want to waste your time with that you want the good stuff vicodin.

LadyScot it was right on the top of the referral from my family doctor that I am allergic to tramadol..Furthermore I did see what the doctor was prescribing only told me that he would fax a script to the pharmacy. My doctor not only had the referral from family doctor but also had medical history that his nurse took that listed all allergies...

So your doctor actually screwed up here since it was right on the information he received, and his nurse, who is supposed to cover his *** also let it slide. WHY then, is this complaint not about the doctor who actually wrote the script??

Andrea Ahw

One, if you know you are allergic to Tramadol, why did you allow your doctor to prescribe it? And two, why the *** did you not tell your doctor that you are allergic to Tramadol?

I would say the error is more the fault of you physician than the pharmacy. The pharmacy was only doing what the doctor ordered.

That could be true but having worked in the medical field I know for a fact the pharmacy keeps records of allergies for this reason..Doctors have several people sending scripts through and errors do occur..This is the chief reason records of allergies are kept with your info at pharmacy

The doctor may have several people faxing scripts, but he is the only one writing them. Why is the doctor prescribing a drug his own patient is allergic to?

the only way we know about an allergy is if we are told about it...which 9 times out of 10, we are not told. I ask people everytime they drop off a script, and i actually get people complaining about it, saying its "none of my business" and "does it really matter?"

the drs dont tell us about allergies all the time. and its hardly ever written on a script. we dont get the medical records from the doctor, just the prescription. the scripts that you drop off, are the same ones the doctors send in to us...no difference.

its your doctors fault...not ours
