I have worked for CVS as a pharmacist for the last 4 years. Lately they have cut even more technician help as they want pharmacist to both verify medications and work at the register.

I was written up after 4 years for "not being work efficient" Pharmacy supervisor took me to the office and put me to tears.

I was accused as a criminal for "counseling too long with customers for their medication and not verifying out prescriptions fast enough" For the sake of public safety and to protect my license I resigned. Just thought I would spread my story as well.

CVS is difficult to control for inappropriate behavior. I filed a complaint with the Florida Board of Pharmacy a few months ago.

The Board ruled that a local Fort Lauderdale CVS' behavior in failing to timely fill medication was unacceptable and disgraceful.

But since it was not illegal, the Board could do nothing. There needs to be a mechanism to control the "Big box" pharmacies' inappropriate behavior

I wish I had my mojo right now so sorry for the sub par idea. Brettwex: U absolutely are right about a mechanism the hard part is why would corporations adopt such a mechanism?

Would a third party need to step in and mandate the mechanism and monitor it with quality measures that if not met result in fines. Would insurance companies have the power or would it benefit them to implement timely fills in their contracts?

Are there any statistics out their that could persuade federal and local governments to pass a bill? Can we create an online petition stating such problems, agree or disagree and explain why so we know how this effects the patient population then send it to our local congress man and women?

document, document, & read all of your state's pharmacy practice act and understand the pic and rph on duty have the sole authority and responsibility for operation of the pharmacy. that said, with your documentation of demands outside of best of practice in pharmacy, or any time ordered or asked to do something unethical or al, and they will.

get an employment attorney and file complaints with your board of pharmacy. keep your ethics and your moral obligations intact.

Why would you lower yourself to tears in front of anybody?
